Everyone has a story. Your life before today, both professionally and personally, helped shape who you are today and what you are doing today.
Is this true for you? Because this is very true with me. I’m not going to tell you my whole story, but I will give you a quick overview.
Before I became a professional voice actor, I graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the College of St. Benedict and Saint John’s University in Minnesota with a degree in Psychology and minors in Business Management and Spanish. After I graduated, I was studying for the graduate school exam but couldn’t shake the strong urge to pursue my dream of voice acting. So I went for it, and I haven’t looked back.
Along with acting, singing and professional voice over training, studying psychology has given me very useful tools for really understanding the complexities of a voice over script: the speaker, the audience, and the message.
When I’m not working on a voice over project in my recording booth and studio, I study fantasy football like an addict, watch movies like Ebert and Roeper and spend time with my family and my fiancé like I love them (which I do).
What’s your story? Send me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d love to hear how you came to be where you are today.
